Consular, Notarial and Passport Services in Canada

All consular, notarial and passport services are by appointment only.

For all enquires on visas, immigration and citizenship (including biometrics) for Australia please contact the Department of Home Affairs by phoning their Global Service Centre in Australia on: 011 61 2 6196 0196. The Australian High Commission Ottawa and our Australian Consulates in Toronto and Vancouver cannot assist with these enquiries.

Clients seeking an appointment for consular, notarial or passport services at the Australian High Commission in Ottawa, the Australian Consulate-General in Toronto or at the Australian Consulate in Vancouver may book their appointments online, using the links below. 


In person Interview Protocols:

  • Clients must wear a face mask or face covering at all times, except when requested to remove by staff to confirm identity
  • Clients must sanitise hands when entering the Australian mission
  • Clients are advised that only the lodging applicant, or one parent/guardian with minor may attend interviews.  Minors aged 15 or under are not required to attend the interview.  Associates are not permitted to use waiting areas in the mission.
  • Clients must attend their allotted interview time, if you are late you must reschedule.  Please do not arrive early to interviews.
  • Clients who feel unwell must reschedule their appointment.  Anyone showing signs of being unwell will be requested to leave the mission and reschedule their interview.

NOTICE: Appointments cannot be arranged more than two months in advance.  All available appointments for Vancouver are shown on the booking page. We are unable to assist with an earlier appointment unless you can provide proof that you require an emergency document for urgent travel. Pre-booked vacation travel is not considered an emergency. Clients can regularly monitor the booking page for possible cancellations.  Clients can also book an appointment  in advance to lodge their application(s) in Toronto or Ottawa.
